Case Overview

On January 14, 2025, during his Administration of Criminal Justice course, Louisiana State University law professor Ken Levy made several political comments. The brief comments included saying he was a 鈥渂ig lefty鈥 and that he 鈥渃ouldn鈥檛 believe that fucker won,鈥 referring to President Trump, and jokingly suggesting to students that they 鈥渇orward my shit to the governor, like I generally don鈥檛 have a problem, I would love to become a national celebrity based on what I said in this class,鈥 before adding in a mocking tone, 鈥渇uck the governor.鈥 After a student鈥檚 recording of the class became public, LSU informed Levy on January 17 he鈥檇 be relieved of his teaching duties for his 鈥渋nappropriate statements.鈥 As Levy sued to regain his position, 蜜桃直播 wrote the university on March 12, explaining that academic freedom protects faculty members who make fleeting, non-disruptive comments in the classroom.
