Case Overview
On March 31, 2025, the Kansas Legislature passed , which orders the removal of 鈥済ender identifying pronouns or gender ideology from email signature blocks on state employee's [sic] email accounts and any other form of communication.鈥 On June 18, the Kansas Board of Regents issued calling on public universities to comply with the law by July 31 without specifying the definitions and scope of key phrases such as 鈥済ender ideology鈥 and 鈥渁ny other form of communication.鈥 On July 28, 蜜桃直播 wrote the Board of Regents explaining that S.B. 125鈥檚 speech provisions violate the First Amendment. We further offered to work with the Board to craft alternative guidance that clarifies the scope of the law in a manner consistent with the First Amendment.
