The ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ (ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to defending and sustaining the individual rights of all Americans to free speech and free thought. 


Position Description


The IT Intern will have a well-rounded experience that familiarizes the individual not only with ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s activities, but also with the moral and intellectual foundations of ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s work. ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ hosts a variety of robust IT solutions, providing the candidate exposure to mobile device management, enterprise cloud solutions, and best-in-class user experience and support. 

Responsibilities


FIRE is seeking an energetic IT Intern to aid with the organization’s varied activities by taking on responsibilities including, but not limited to:


  • Performing day-to-day operations such as answering the phones, dispatching tickets, and assisting with the general user experience
  • Conducting research on various IT-related topics 
  • Performing basic CRM administration and data maintenance duties
  • Performing basic website administration duties
  • Performing other duties as assigned ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ provides many educational opportunities such as the opportunity to work with ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s leadership and other experts on civil liberties in education

Qualifications


A successful candidate will have:


  • Excellent computer skills (Mac) including knowledge of MS Office and the Google Workspace/Gmail platform 
  • Comfort using Excel or Google sheets
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently

Preferred qualifications:


Experience in an IT support role or troubleshooting experience. An understanding of and enthusiasm for ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s mission. Salesforce, or other CRM and data management, experience. Student leadership experience.

Office and Position Details:

FIRE’s office is located in Old City, Philadelphia. Commuters that live outside walking distance can easily access ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ through SEPTA regional rail, subway, bus service, or PATCO rail service. Parking is also available in the area at a variety of lots and garages for between $15 and $30 a day.

The IT Intern is is paid $17.00 an hour and will work in a standard office environment. To perform job responsibilities, the IT Intern will utilize personal computers, copy machines, and telephones. Some lifting of objects weighing up to 30 pounds may be required. On occasion, the IT Intern may be asked to perform errands which will involve walking to places within the immediate vicinity of the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ office.

Students will be evaluated at regular intervals. Highly successful candidates may be invited back for future intern experiences or may be offered a part-time position, however, further employment is not guaranteed.
